Guy goes out and buys a gun, obviously doesn't know what he is doing, watches too much TV and plays too many video games...
ends up negligently shooting friend. Gee, I am freaking shocked.
If you never been around guns,or don't know how to use the one you have...get some damn training. That could be,and prefered, profession trainer, a friend who a police officer or in the military(both for the most part are trained to use guns safetly - however there are exceptions to every rule), somebody who has had prior training or been around guns most of their life - like yours truly. Nonetheless, get some training if you are naive to guns.
Hell, I even give you the first lesson for free.
The Four Rules of Gun Safety:
1) All guns are loaded, treat them as such.
2) Never point your gun at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy.
3) Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot it.
4) Know what is your intended target is,and what is beyond it.
Take notice how the rules interlace and overlap each other. Yeah, follow them, live them, obey them...and be a safe gun owner.
