While I think this is pretty cool, that the machine pistol Saddam was holding while in the spider hole was presented as a gift, and will now be on display for the general public to see.
Did President Bush get a NFA weapons permit and stamp for weapon? For even if de-milled or inactive, the ATF will treat it as a machine gun, for once a machine gun, always a machine gun.

Some further reporting needs to be done here.
Possibilities include the gun remains fully assembled and functional and is, or is not, correctly registered to either the US government as a gift to the head of state, or it is not registered.
Perhaps the gun was demilitarized by removal of the firing pin, welding up the firing pin opening, or cutting the barrel such that the chamber will not accept a round, before the gun was imported by the Delta Force guys (with or without paperwork from BATFE). What is the legality of a gun-shaped object, which once was a gun, that is imported as a paperweight?
Is the magazine still functional? Is the gun still able to be disassembled? The frame has a serial number, the slide has a serial number, the barrel has a serial number. Are any of those pieces considered a machine gun part under this museum storage?
